Piero Lissoni is an Italian architect and designer, known for his contemporary furniture design. He founded the interdisciplinary studio Lissoni Associati in Milan in 1986, a studio specializing in architecture, interior design and product design and Graph.X ten years later. Lissoni and his multinational team thus comprehensively cover these areas, completing them with graphics, art direction and corporate identity. Projects extend globally to include private villas, residential buildings, offices, factories, retail, theatres, restaurants, hotels and yachts. Alessi, Benetton, Boffi, Cassina, Knoll International, Poltrona Frau, Porro, Tecno, Wella: these are only a few of the prestigious customers for which Lissoni Associati has built showrooms in Italy (Milan, Venice) and abroad (France, USA, Turkey, Japan). The common denominator of all their projects is elegant design and a talent for “cohabitation of different styles” and brand identities.
Major projects include office complexes for Living Divani and, in the Milan area, for the La Rinascente Group, Glas Italia and Matteograssi.
In the past decade the studio has been appointed to design numerous homes and luxury hotels, including the Monaco & Grand Canal Hotel in Venice in a renovated historical 18th century building; the interior of the Bentley Design Hotel in Istanbul; the Mitsui Garden, a business hotel in Tokyo; and three suites in the Suites at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai in India.
His work is recognized worldwide and has earned him a series of international awards, including the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award, Compasso d'Oro ADI, Elle Decor International; he is guest lecturer and member of the Advisory Board at the Milan Politecnico, inducted into the New York Interior Design Hall of Fame.
